The Drought is officially over! Now, Cabo Verde must deal with the effects of a 4 year drought and also COVID. With an economy built on tourism COVID has hit hard. families are in need, thre needs are less than $50 a month to sustain a family through this crisis, help them so they may rise to meet tomorrow with hope, faith and love.

The objectives will be on nutritional needs for families through immediate distribution of food and for the mid-term creating a food bank of non-perishable food for distribution throughout the drought.

As we look to our own Blessings, consider reaching out to others in their time of need with a gift of faith and love; they will be thankful and you will be enriched.

Drought / COVID

CABO VERDE DROUGHT CONDITIONS!  While the drought is over as of last month, the economic effects will take over a year to stabilize and then another year to recover. That Others May Rise is supporting Liga Nazarena De Solidariedade / Nazarene Solidarity League (A recognized NGO) to provide relief to the rural areas of the country of Cabo Verde that were affected by a severe drought.   It is estimated that over 17,200 households or roughly 25% of the entire country’s population is adversely affected by this drought.   Along with Nazarena Solidarity League we will be concentrating our efforts to raise money to focus on the families!

Our ultimate goal is to raise $50 (US) per stricken family per month for at least 10 months.  We have a huge task at hand, and we know everyone has a big heart when it comes to helping those in need!
